CANDIDATE PROFILE - Ideal candidates will have a strong balance of technical and management skills, and experience in setting up and leading competency center. He will be responsible for managing the competency center (50%) as well as perform program management (50%) functions for the Architecture group.
Over all 8 to 9 years in IT industry with expertise in multiple disciples including technical, programme management and governance.
Prior experience in setting up competency centers/COE's from scratch in offshore scenarios
Minimum of 3+ years experience in Project management/program management
Minimum of 4+ years experience in leading technical teams
Should have strong experience in at least/or a mix of technologies - Java/J2EE, .NET, ETL, EAI/Middleware tools
Self-starter, who can deal with ambiguity, maintains focus, drives to clarity and provides innovative solutions.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and deliver results in a matrix organization
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exposure to work in multi-cultural environment would be a definitive plus
Should be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Should be well versed in software engineering methodologies , agile, continuous integration
Should have experience in budgeting and forecasting.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Establish and run the competency center for niche technologies such as CAST( code analysis) and software factory (continuous integration)
Identify new technologies and build competency for those technologies
Create and execute roadmap to start competency center for various technologies
Perform program management functions for Architecture group
Work with the business lines and drive alignment of scope, timeline, and resource ownership for each project/initiative
Ensure appropriate level of awareness of the initiatives across the organization through effective updates
Collaborate with the global competency center and work towards shared objectives
Resource forecasting and planning (for competency and Architecture group) with businesses and skill development of associates on a continuous basis
Assess, plan and monitor Architecture and Competency activities on an on-going basis and report on the same.
